Make a tetrahedron (or any primitve or try with any object), select one ore more vertices, then call "Select > By > Non Quadrangle Faces > All Non Quadrangle Faces". Crashdump:

Similar crashes with "Even/Odd".
Also occurs when one or more edges are selected instead of vertices.
AND also, when one or more faces are selected. That one is really nasty, because it would be really convenient, to be able to select a bunch of faces in a region of interest, say, the brow section of a head, and get the non quad faces just there, instead all over the head.
If the face selection part can be fixed that way, the vertex/edge selection could be changed to an adjacent face selection beforehand and work the same way.

Create a cube. Select +X face, create a new material mat01 for that face. Select only +Y and +Z faces, create another mat02. In face mode highlight mat01 and "Select" from context menu, Face 1 is selected (OK), highlight mat02 and "Select", Faces 0,3 selected (also OK). Note also the info line reading: "L: Select all faces that have this material".
Deselect and switch to vertex mode. Repeat highlight/Select mat01. Vertex 1 is selected. Huh, a vertex, not a face; and that vertex has nothing to do with the material faces and it is only one (if at all there should be 4, the corners of face 1). Deselect, HL/Select mat02. Now Vertices 0,3 are selected ... ah, a pattern evolves (same Id-numbers, just not switched to face mode)? No crash dumps so far.
Deselect and switch to edge mode. Again HL/Select mat01. Edge 1 selected. Deselect, HL/Select mat02. Edges 0,3 selected ... sometimes. But I also had Wings freeze totally with no message whatsoever and a crash dump written. Mouse cursor visible and movable, but neither clicks nor keyboard mappings work any more. One has to kill Erlang (and looses all work not autosaved).

I'm on Windows XP. Best regards, Georg
PS: while I'm at it: it might also to be more convenient to change behavior of Select on materials to ADD to an existing face selection. If the current behavior is wanted, one can easily deselect manually beforehand. There is a recent thread about that in Q&A, which made me test and discover the bug.

Looking at some primitives (also their source) I stumbled into the UV Torus. The top comment says:
%% The U resolution is the number of faces that will be generated
%% along the path of the major radius; the V resolution, along the path
%% of the minor radius.
%% To generate square faces, rather than long and thin rectangles,
%% maintain the following ratio: URes/VRes = MajorRad/MinorRad
%% Or you can enter a zero for either U or V and it will automatically adjust.
And it works that way. E.g. entering 0 for U and 4 for V while having the default 1.0/0.2 major/minor radii produces a 20/4 torus, etc. Nice.
However there are no checks. Entering 0 into both U and V does nothing, but gives this dump in the Erlang console:
wpc_torus:command/3: bad return value:
More serious is the case, when one enters 2 into the V field (I expected a 2-sided torus object similar to an N-Gon). Then the "Internal Error ..." shows up and the crash dump is:

Really not very important (that bug/missing check must be around since 2002, and nobody noticed). But, as usual, Wings shouldn't crash.

I haven't had any trouble using Wings in ages, until I upgraded to the 1.4 or 1.4.1 versions. Well it is more of an annoyance than anything else, what is happening is no matter what face I select for example on the cube only z+ axis face gets selected. I have searched to find a solution to this but I haven't found anyone with the same problem. I had just finished modeling a skull in a previous version and after it updated, it would show only a small face on the nose selected no matter the face I select. Thought everything else is fine I can select a single vertex or edge fine, it is just with the face. Is there a solution to this or have I missed something in the setting?
Thanks a lot for the great modeler too.

Hello, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but my objects dont show up in the Outliner window. And then I noticed that its not an option in the preferences as it was before.
