Hello, whenever i texture using wings 3d i notice that it places a texture on the whole model. Is there a way to only texture certain parts on ur object? If so, how?

Select all the faces you want to texture and procced with uvmapping as you normally would. After unfolding be sure to change the name of the newly generated
material. Then proceed with other parts, always renaming the material - if you will not rename the material, the new uvs will be generated in the same uv
space.
You sholuld be sure whether you want the parts as separate materials (and uvs) or the same material beforehand, as merging the uvs in wings is a serious pita. PS. I really hate the "ur" word... whats wrong with plain ole' "your?" |

The material just has to be a different colour. So you would select the faces you want as a separate uv, and change the material colour, and proceed as marcin
wuu suggested.

Thank you so much, Marcin Wuu! I was having the exact same issue and gave up on it a while back! Now I can texture those models I made...
Well, I will need to remember some GLSL so I can make some shaders to create textures out of... |
