How do you do a Radial Scale (Y) to a non-default point

(05/28/08 11:30:29) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	R-click on the title bar (where it says "Geometry"), and choose "Fit" from the resulting pop-up menu. While you're at it, and before re-sizing the Geometry window, go to the main menu -> Window -> Outliner to create a new Outliner window, and the same for "Geometry Graph" to create a new G.G. window. Now resize all three using R-click on the title bar.

Can also obtain a step value by selecting a chunk of relevant geom - and transferring its value. pp

When combining two objects, is it ok to put one object through another? Ex. If you want to put a cylinder through a sphere, can you put it through and hit combine, with part of the cylinder inside the sphere, or will that cause problems? This is a bit of a tough question to descride, but if you understand, any input would be great! PK

If you're talking about using the Object \| Combine command - then no - nowt earth shatteringly nasty will happen. All Combine does is to 'group' 2 or more objects together ... essentially for convenience purposes - but the individual meshes never become one and can be 'uncombined' at any time, with Object \| Separate (their original names as shown in GGraph will be lost tho' when 'Separated') However, if you're asking whether there are any boolean operations in wings, then no, there aren't. The booleans page on my site will give you some ideas about the sort of things you can do to obtain similar results however. pp

I thought that the thread "main hotkeys" might have them, but it doesnt. I use version .99.00b if it matters. Also, say I wanted to connect a face (a quad) to an object above it. I want to extend the quad toward the object, using extrude, untill the quad reaches it, then connect then. The only thing is that the quad is angled, almost on a 45 degree, so when I extrude the quad and it touches the object, only one edge touches, or if I extrude more the whole quad touches it , but since the object is very thin, part of the quad can be seen coming through the top. Should I rotate the quad so that it is flat? Can the flatten command help me at all ( I'm not very farmilliar with flatten), or is there some easier way. This is another hard question to describe, but if you understand what im trying to communicate to you, input would be appreviated...as usual. PK Last Edited By: pokyking 06/21/08 12:20:01. Save / move your prefs somewhere then re-start wgs - it should then show you just the default ones. Other query - sorta depends, but If the target object (the thin'un) is also a quad then you could just bridge between the 2 faces, then loopcut to separate 'em (at the thin end .... if you want them to touch but not be one object. Alternatively (again if target is a quad) ... extract the target face ... then bridge. Also depends on how the shapes are now - and what you want to end up with ... but yes, Flatten (mmb) ... using the target face is a nother option. Rather too many variables in the exact nature of what you're trying to achieve to give a definitive answer ... pix maybe? pp

The quad and the object in my previous post were actually the same object...(sorry I didn't to specify that, because I thought it would be easir to explain that way...) Also, I tried the extract>put on>bridge idea of yours when the problem first occured, but I was left with a bit of the quad sticking out of the object. Is that due to something I may have done incorrectly, or is it like the "dissappearing edge" deal? Anyway, I think I can work with what I have done with extract>put on>bridge, so thanks! PK

If on one object, you preform a loop cut and consequently have two objects, then use combine to bring the two objects into one, do they then also become one mesh( i didn't think so but I thought i'd check)? If not, what can I do to make then one mesh? I know that making two objects one mesh can be a lengthy procedure (as your boolean page shows, pp) but i thought that since thes two objects were once one mesh, it might be easier to again make them one.....??Maybe?
