Since we are working in a 3d environment with Alpha I just though it might be nice if the colour picker was implemented in 3d since you have 3 channels of information you wish to manipulate (either R, G, B or H, S, V).

HSV Means Hue, Saturation, Value. It's another system for choosing colors.
Yes, you can add colors to your models in wings. Select the face or faces you want to color and then from the pop-up menu choose SET MATERIAL > NEW |

A color picker is simply a method for discovering the exact color of a previously colored object, so that it may be applied to a new one. Nendo coloring is the last and only reason I still use Nendo. I adore Wings3d, but it does not (as yet) posses coloring in the sense Nendo does. I believe, I read in forum, that Bjorn plans to add Nendo style coloring at a future date after he has, I plan a ceremonial burning of my Nendo disk. Wings3d allows coloring only of materials applied to objects for later UV-mapping and texturing. This is not coloring in the true sense of the word and is visible only when Gauraud shading is selected. Nendo actually colors the model directly, bit-by-bit. In VR worlds and games, colors render innately much faster than textures (less lag) Bit-by-bit coloring adds a touch of subtlety to color by allowing colors to blend, rather than mono-colored polygons. Of course, texturing is vastly superior when rendering speeds arent quite so critical. On command Nendo automatically converts colors to materials for its internal UV/texturing and painting. Unfortunately, Nendos UV/texture methodology was almost a good idea. (Very disappointing) I was on the Nendo beta; Nendo was released far too soon, it has more bugs than a flophouse bed. They where warned by beta testers and Nendo staff alike, nobody listened. |

Amendment: I meant vertex-by-vertex, not bit-by-bit coloring. |

Rather than a colour wheel have a transparent colour cylender change all the colours characteristics Hue, Saturation & Intensity from the one control.
