I thought I read somewhere about a POV-Ray export plugin for Wings. Does something like this exist, and if so, where can I find it?
Thanks,

I also want to say thanks to KayosIII for this plugin. I've playing around with it and is really nice. Just one question. I can't export my materials to POV. I mean the POV file have the definitions of my materials but the color of all of them is the same. Is it a bug or just is not implemented yet? Anyway, I can change colors in POV, so... The only problem is that now I'm learning POV, also ;) Keep on with the good work. |

Not implementend - Sorry guys.... Bjorn said that he was just about to change the materials interface in wings so I will wait until this is done.... :)
Meanwhile you will just have to create those materials by hand. |

That's right, Kayos. I am currently in the process of rewriting and cleaning up handling of materials. So far so good.
I plan to release the next release (0.94.03) next week. Needless to say, import/export plug-ins will need updating. |

I look forward to the next POV plugin and please, count me in when it comes to beta-testing whatever happens in that field. The POV language is very familiar to me.
There are still a few things with the current plugin, I don't know if they've been fixed yet. There seems to remain a problem with material names in exported material files. They still contain invalid characters although these are removed from the *mesh* include files. I'm also thinking about, it could be helpful with a warning before overwriting files other than the main .pov file. Preferribly a "yes / yes to all" warning box as seen in Windows. Regards, Hugo |

1) The safe names is comming soon. I have started work on this but I did not know how to do a few things. Should be updated next version.
2) I have got no Idea how to do warning dialogues from windows and since wings runs on other platforms I am not even sure this is a good idea. (Might happen) Meanwhile I am going to assume that the user is smart enough to put each project in a seperate directory.... |
