Yeah, in my opinion the good old DAZ Hexagon was very ahead of times when released, and still nowadays it's on the edge in many aspects.
It features various type of lines (beziers, arcs, polylines, etc.) that can be thickened and manipulated afterwards. A very fast and clever way to produce tubes, pipes, cords, and so on! |

Well I was thinking of adding an option to import an Inkscape .ps path as a template for the sweep extrusion.
But first I'm going to use selected edge paths. |

Sure, one step at a time. I also guess Hexagon's approach could not be suited for winged edge modeling.
I simply love how Inkscape is evolving lately: live path effects (from Ivan Louette) are stunning, more than what anyone could imagine from a vector software. |

Yes, I love the new features too. But ps. and eps. files exported from the dev versions cant be imported into Wings (whereas files from the current stable
version work). Anyone know why?

They are using Ciaro in the dev versions, but I don't know if that is how their stable will be released.
Because in the stable, they have the option to use Ciaro or just the plain export. Ciaro uses a header section in the file which describes how it translates the syntax of the file you expect into its own format. If Inkscape is dropping the pure ps and eps format, then I will have to rewrite the the file parsing part of the plugin. |

Thanks for the quick reply, Optigon.
Hope they continue the pure formats and you wouldn't have to rwrite anything. I still keep the stable version just for Wings. |

Sweep along path?... I did miss the related discussion, as it seems... This would be great indeed... It is an old wish, forgotten because of Wings'
structure's difficulty to accept such tools... But if is there a way to implement such a thing, would be a most essential add on...
