I am trying to get IGES or STEP models into Wingz. I have been trying with BRL-CAD to convert into BRL-CAD and back out again but I am not yet succeeding. Does
anybody know any alternative ways of doing this?

Wings does not support import or export of IGES nor STEP files.

If BRL-CAD is the source of your files, try exporting as Wavefront OBJ or STL.

Your best bet is going to be an IGES import into BRL-CAD via iges-g and then export as OBJ via g-obj for Wings, but the issue is going to be the container
format of the IGES file. If it only has 2D entities that don't resolve to solid geometry, BRL-CAD isn't going to like them. There are three different
import knobs with the iges-g importer though that might help. If you can get that IGES converted to a DXF file, you may have better success with the dxf-g
importer (because it has basic support for some 2D entities).

If you have more specific issues, you can drop by #brlcad on irc.freenode.net for interactive assistance.

Cheers!

Hi, Ran13.
I wonder how can I
convert pdf files? I also want to import into BRL-CAD via iges-g and then export as OBJ via g-obj for Wings. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
