Wings unusable on MacBook Pro |

.98.36 is now almost unusable on my MacBook Pro. I actually just upgraded to a new Core 2 Duo MBP, and I'm finding this version of Wings crashses so often I can't use it.
Any chance of a new version around the corner? Thanks, Chris |

have you tried having wings run single core? not sure how you would go about it on a mac, but i know the C2D has a lot of problems with dual core on XP

I haven't checked this out for sure, but I was told recently by a reputable 'puter tech that many of the problems w/ XP Pro and the Core 2 Duo are due to the fact that XP isn't set up to recognize 2 CPU's on a single die (only actual dual CPU's and "virtual" duals (HT's) are supported) . 2 CPU's on a single die won't be supported until you upgrade to Vista... at least that was what I was told. ??? The problem is worse for XP Home which isn't setup to recognize dual CPU's at all, so if someone sold you a Core 2 Duo system w/ XP Home, they should be shot. ;) As for the Mac problems... no help from me, sorry. |

hmm....that is very possible, but according to what Intel tells people who sell their product, windows can handle dual core architecture, its the applications that are not built to properly handle dual core. but like i said, its very possible that your information is more correct than mine (intel has been known to lie....)
but regardless, i think we can agree the problem is with the dual core (?) |

I don't think this is a Core2 thing. My MacBook with the CoreDuo (1) exhibits similar instability with WIngs. It does seem worse on my MBP though. Although Wings is the only application that exhibits instability and crashing. My other apps are fine.

i have wings on my macbook d2core 10.4.8.
i starts normal, but when move my cursor fast to the extreme corners of my display, wings crashes without report . this is very strange. could somebody run wings on a new macbook without probs? thanx |

I have the same problem as the user above. MacBook, Intel Core 2 Duo, crashes on extremely rapid mouse movement. It's harder to get to crash with the mouse, but it's extremely easy to crash Wings when moving quickly across the trackpad.
I hope this is fixable. I love Wings far too much, and I've already lost my primary rendering software because of my move to an Intel comp. =( |

Same problem here. Something moving the mouse seems to break it. I went into the package and ran Contents/MacOS/Wings3d so I could get the erland console. This is the full contents for my session. The sse2 line is where I moved the mouse and it crashed. I hope this helps track down the problem. I'm on a MBP C2D also.

Same here on an totally new iMac 17" Core2Duo 2GHz 2GB RAM Radeon x1600 with Microsoft Habu @ USB Overdrive.
