        <![CDATA[ I went from Wings to Silo a couple years ago, 1.x had very solid features, some nice tools that Wings does not and allowed open meshes (which you do have to
take care with)

Silo2.x looked promising and i was very excited about some of the new features it would bring.

Since it&#39;s delayed release, Silo2.x has been plagued with bugs in basic operations, dropped features, and slow to a crawl development.

Yesterday one of the dev posted saying that they are now working on a game engine.

use Vista either) and Ubuntu Linux for everything else.

			<description><![CDATA[ While you got the .blender folder open, create a new folder (in .blender) called &quot;icons&quot; (without quotes of course) and you can update your icons to
some nicer ones (I like &#39;em better than the built-in ones. There are other icon themes out there, but you can hunt those down yourself. <img src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif">  )

			<description><![CDATA[ Ran- I really like the colors of your home version of UI. Ive already managed to change my blender viewport background, but I really want to get the panel and
button colors the exact same as yours. So if you happen to have the RGB values saved somewhere (I imagine you would as I dont think you have those values
commited to memory) then Id much appreciate to know what they are. Im not concerned about fonts or anything like that. Id also like to see how these UI colors
look in Wings.

			<description><![CDATA[ I use the 3D cursor a LOT for bone placement. Most joints are defined by rings of verts that define the volume. Finding the center of that volume is often a
&quot;hit or miss&quot; when you eyeball it. Snapping the 3D cursor to the actual calculated center of the volume allows for more accurate initial placement of
bones... especially in mechanical rigs (think pistons and gears and such).

the stupid ring is pretty useful if know how to use it.

wether you refer to blender cursor (absolutely useful for levels and whatever architecture building or other sort of modeling) , or the gizmo (I don&#39;t use
it for modeling, but a lot for rigging and animation. )
