Having Trouble With One Button Mouse

Hi guys. I am new to Wings 3D. I am trying to learn how to UV map some of my 3d models. I am having problems making the right mouse button commands come up. I have a Mac laptop with a one-button mouse. Ok i am trying to make windows in something, but i don't need glass, just open wall. but to make it simplir, i have a basic plane flat it is like 9 by 9 with lines going across and stuff, then i click on a plane in the middle/on of th eboxes in it, how do i make this into a hole without wrecking shape or using hide tool

is wings 3d still an active project or is it abandonware. all the wings 3d forums look very inactive. where is there an active forum? what does it mean when you get a crash message?

i got a crash message a few times but the program didn't crash and close. it let me resume my work.

where can i find good documentation for learning wings 3d?

wings 3d is the most intuitive 3d program ive used :)

I have been lurking on this fourm for a few years now, collecting information on wings3d.
I have been working the last eight months on a better way of making video tutorials. I believe I have come up with a good combination of codecs to produce quality video tutorials.
What I would like to do is, convert the tutorials in the manual to video tutorials. I would give the creator of the tutorial full credit for their work, I would just like to add "tutorial...

I would like to package wings3d user manual for Debian GNU/Linux distribution.

As far as I understand the manual is distributed under liberal license, but without any source codes.

I would like to ask whether the source of the manual is publicly available?

UV map export process

The official manual explains uv mapping only up to where the mesh has been layed out on the uv map and doesnt say anything about exporting the uv map onto external imaging apps. I think the manual should make extra effort to make this easy for beginners as uv mapping is one of the most difficult concepts for those new to 3D, and as the uv mapping feature in wings is the best I know of for beginners to learn uv mapping.

I dont think people new to wings are aware that many of the often used functions of the rightclick menus can be assigned to hotkeys making wings even more faster and intuitive than it is by default. I started a thread about this at the cgtalk forum:

Hi all,
I am to new wings and these boards..althou i know hwo to navigate and do basic things (extrude etc), i wanted to make my first model a ww2 airplane (corsair to be specific) but ran into a little problem. I have the ortho views for the plane (right top and front), but im wondering how i can get them into wings and the viewport to be able to use them as guidelines while modeling the airplane. Any help will be appreciated (btw ived used a little of Animation Master at school if that...

Does anyone need more screen shots for the differences in workmode shaded etc or is this unnesseccary since they are easy to see in wings itself?

Bjorn is putting out a new version practically every weekend. At this rate we cannot keep up so I wanted to get some feedback.

I think we should start by getting the manual current with the last stable release 98.10e or even 98.11a (since that was where we were at when the next version came out and put a kink in the process). The main reason is that the menus and right click menus are all pretty set so I think that it will be a great basis for further updates. The AutoUV section will...

This section I may need some help with. My computer does not support Linux so I won't have it as reference.

The recommended Computers list is a rough based on experience with windows and OSX but the Linux specs are a placeholder.

Is there any other info you think you might need to get wings setup and running? Then find out how to use it?

I'll be filling in these three sections over the weekend.

New Manual Text samples

Here are the three font samples that are teh contenders.

I've dug through all the manuals of fonts we have and came up with two designed for screen view Geogia and Verdana and the original Eurostyle. Arial was also an option but is so close to verdana that I skipped it. They are about 300k each

Take a look and let me know what you think of them. If you already downloaded the manual the last link is the same format except with some better spacing.
